Safe walking routes and information

Click here for a copy of the prepared safe walking routes.

Become Familiar with the best routes for your child while walking form home to school. Remind your child to use crosswalks, look both ways before crossing, and obey all crosswalks, stop signs, traffic signals, and other traffic controls. Set a defined time for your child to leave and arrive home.

Pick-up and drop-off gates

All students will enter the school in the morning from the 21st Street main gate. Volunteers will be available to help your child if they are being dropped off by car. After the 8 a.m. bell late children must be admitted through the main office.

Pick-up for kindergarten age children will be released to parents/guardians through the kindergarten yard gate on 22nd Street. First grade students will be released to parents/guardians only and will be released through the annex gate on 22nd street. The rest of the students will be released from the 21st Street gate.

Traffic Safety

We want to encourage everyone to drive slowly and carefully around the school. Please obey all posted traffic signs and watch for pedestrians, especially young children. LAPD Traffic Officers will patrol in the morning and afternoon. Please follow all traffic and safety laws so that you are not issued a traffic ticket.

  • Drop your children off between designated cones in the Safety Valet Zone on 21st Street.
  • DO NOT park your car and have children cross in the middle of the street.
  • DO NOT double park or park in driveways when dropping or picking up as it creates congestion and safety hazards.
  • We discourage students from bringing bicycles, scooters, skateboards, or skate shoes to school due to heavy traffic and safety concerns.
